Plurilingual Teacher Identity
This research project is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. As part of my doctoral thesis, the project explores the relationship between plurilingual teacher identities and practices in the English for Academic Purposes context. The study draws on an innovative methodological design, coined pluriethnography, which involves teachers as researcher-participants who design and explore their own research questions in collaborative interviews with a partner who is as different from them as possible.
Comprendiamoci
The research project "Let's understand each other", funded by the Italian Ministry of Education in partnership with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, supported the implementation of plurilingual and action-oriented tasks in language classrooms in three regions in Italy. As a research assistant, I supported the principal investigator, Enrica Piccardo, in leading a team of graduate students through five research phases with over 200 participants. Throughout the project, I provided research consultation and teacher training in Italian for groups of school directors, team leaders, and teacher participants.
Linguistic and Cultural Diversity Reinvented
This research project was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and led by principal investigator Enrica Piccardo and co-principal investigators Geoff Lawrence and Aline Germain-Rutherford. The project developed an online language learning and teaching tool called LITE (Language Integration Through E-Portfolio), based in a holistic, plurilingual, action-oriented, and technology-mediated framework. I contributed to the LITE resources as a research assistant, producing professional development materials for teachers in English, French, and Spanish.
Sostenere l'apprendimento online
This research project "Supporting Online Language Learning in Times of Crisis" was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. The objective was to support language teachers in Lombardy, Italy, in implementing plurilingual, action-oriented approaches during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the lead research assistant, I supported the principal investigator, Enrica Piccardo, and collaborator, Gisella Langé, in proposal writing, instrument design, training of graduate research assistants, mixed methods data collection, qualitative data analysis, and dissemination of findings.
